Meet the Medic is EPIC. Words can not describe just how amazing those four minutes of footage are. Here, have the link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=36lSzU…
Unfortunately, the Über Update was, in my opinion, not quite as epic. All in all, I found it to be a disappointment, if I'm going to be honest. The weapons are nice, but they are not earth shattering or really game play changing. Some I wouldn't even call a sidegrade, but a complete downgrade. The Bazaar Bargain comes to mind.
The update started good for me. I liked the first day. Then day 2 came and my enthusiasm for the update crashed instantly. With every update, I hope that Valve decides for once to stick to their own guidelines to fit the setting, the theme and the personalities in the game. Day 2 did not. Day 3 did little to recover my enthusiasm when they gave the most expansive class two packs, yet flipped off both Pyro and Engineer. Their reasoning for the Engineer? Community contributors weren't contributing enough Engineer items. Day 4? Adored Meet the Medic, but I don't consider it part of the actual playable update, ye know, the stuff that actually goes into the game? The weapons are okay, but like day 3, they failed to restore my enthusiasm.
Long story short, the update was okay. It was a well executed, well prepared update with lots of content. But it is far from the "the greatest update in the history of Team Fortress 2" as Valve had claimed. And even though I am very disappointed with the update, I am still grateful that Valve and the many contributors are willing to go out of their way and still produce content for this game up to this day.
And to be quite honest, I find it quite hilarious that the weapon that seemed to be tacked on at the last minute to the update is probably going to be one of the most popular of the update. SKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeee-pop.
Oh and Team Fortress 2 is now permanently Free to Play.

I'm not dead.
Not yet anyway. But in the past year, I have found myself halfway between this plane and another. It's a very strange plane. It's filled with books and teachers and material and students and computers and something they call 'studying'. Very peculiar. Very time consuming as well. On a positive note, I am now a master of Java. *Snorts* Okay, maybe not a master, but I know a fair degree of it now.
And while I had forsaken almost all of my creative pursuits in the past year, I have remained active on an array of many other activities. The fruits of my labour finally paid off on the Team Fortress Wiki when I was given the honour to own a Wiki Ca
Portal 2
Portal 2 was released yesterday. I had it pre-ordered on the day pre-orders became available, so naturally, I immediately started playing when I could. Sat down, finished the entirety of the singe player mode in one go. Took me about 9 hours (had a free day, luckily). And let me tell you, the game is absolutely fantastic.
The dialogue and jokes are brilliantly written, even with Chell never saying a word (which in Portal 2 is 'explained' through a mild case of serious brain damage). I especially enjoyed the bits where the prerecorded messages said the most ridiculous things while remaining absolutely serious (with my favourite being 'If in t
